South Pacific Yacht Charters lead you to a variety of exotic destinations. Like the Caribbean Sea, the waters of the South Pacific maintain the flawless turquoise blue hues and crystal clear shallows along with hundreds of reefs and small islands to explore. The South Pacific is one of the most environmentally diverse areas of the globe. This area contains mountainous volcanic islands; like Fiji, with its series of natural streams, waterfalls, rainforests, and gorgeous beaches; multiple pockets of varied rainforests; black sand beaches, like those in Tahiti; endless coral reefs, like the Great Barrier Reef of Australia; fjords and glaciers in New Zealand; many active volcanoes such as those in the Vanuatu Islands; deserts of central Australia; and so much more. It is obvious that this region offers something for every nature enthusiast. The region consists of 15 countries in the Australasia and Oceana areas. Australasia is composed of the larger islands of New Zealand, Australia, and New Guinea. Oceana is composed many smaller island countries like Fiji, Tonga, French Polynesia, Cooks Islands, and many more. The South Pacific region’s optimal weather seasons are contrary to the Caribbean and the area seems to offer a lot more. The climate is tropical year round, with some temperate areas further south and naturally the countries closer to the equator are warmer than those further south. The area experiences a slightly warmer and more humid period between November and April, this is the rainy season or hurricane season. There is a cooler and drier period from May to October. The peak season for yacht charters is between late April and August. July and August are notorious for the best sailing conditions while the entire sailing season is between May and October. Due to the southeast trade winds, westbound journeys are much smoother than eastbound journeys. |
