A Rolls-Royce anything grips the imagination like no other
vehicle, evidenced by the long-lasting impression that the Silver Wraith makes
in Raymond Chandler’s The Long Goodbye. In the case of the Rolls-Royce Phantom,
as interpreted by their official coachbuilder Mutec, long is certainly the
operative word.
At 1,10cm longer than a standard Phantom, this is a true stretch
limousine and it offers creature comforts to suit gold standards in taste.
Behind the new divider sectioning off the front seats, a new face-to-face
four-seat configuration (individually adjustable) marks this Phantom as a true
luxury proposition. In the head-to-head battle between BMW-owned Rolls-Royce and
Daimler-owned Maybach, the stakes are now as high as they have ever been, with
the Phantom equalling anything that Maybach offers.
